SHELL NIGER DELTA POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is for students from the Niger Delta for masters degree studies in some selected UK Universities. Ten scholarships are awarded annually, and these are in partnership with three  internationally recognised universities in the United Kingdom: Imperial College London, University College London and the University of Leeds.



Requirements



To apply for a scholarship, applicants must:

    Display intellectual ability and leadership potential
    Meet the university's language requirement (candidates are advised to apply for any relevant tests as early as possible)
    Be aged between 21 - 28 years of age
    Be an indigene of Bayelsa, Delta or Rivers states (documentary proof of this will be required)
    Currently reside in Nigeria
    Intend to return and take up permanent residence in Nigeria after completion of the proposed programme of study
    Have obtained a university degree of at least an equivalent standard to a UK upper Second Class Honours Degree
    Be neither a current nor former employee (having employment within the last three years) of SPDC, the Royal Dutch Shell plc or Wider Perspectives Limited, or be related to current employees of any of these companies
    Not have studied previously in the UK or any other developed country


ELIGIBLE MSC COURSES


    Imperial College London: Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Geoscience, Petroleum Geophysics, Engineering Geology.
    University College London:  Chemical Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering.
    University of Leeds:  Exploration Geophysics, Electronic/Electrical Engineering.

Award
Award covers tuition, living expense and a flight ticket.
